In Year 5, we have been learning about computer systems and exploring how the different parts work together to make a system function. We looked at a catalogue store as an example and worked together to categorise statements into the different components that make up a computer system 🖥️

A rather mysterious delivery arrived for Year 6 today!
A battered box had been left outside the classroom, marked ‘Special Delivery’ and ‘Handle with Care’, with a rather worrying note attached…
The children spent the morning very wary of what might be lurking inside! Rather than opening it, they examined the outside carefully, searching for clues and using evidence to infer what the box might contain and where it could have come from.
It made a fantastic start to our suspense writing. We began building a bank of precise vocabulary to describe the mysterious box, the sounds it might make and the reactions it could provoke.
