This morning, Year 6 examined a range of Tudor portraits and discovered how artists used hidden messages and symbols to influence how the public, and even other countries, viewed the Kings and Queens in the painting.
The children carefully studied the portraits, sharing their ideas and interpretations before discussing the meanings behind the symbols. We explored how details such as clothing, jewellery, colours and objects were used to represent power, status, wealth and religious beliefs.
